Comparison Degree (Tingkat Perbandingan Adjective)

 

A. Apa itu Comparison Degree?

Comparison of adjectives adalah bentuk adjective (kata sifat) yang digunakan untuk membandingkan dua atau lebih hal/benda/orang.

Contoh perbandingan:

• Rina is taller than Sinta.

• This book is the most interesting of all.

B. Jenis Comparison Degree

Tingkatan	Nama	Fungsi	Contoh
1. Positive	tingkat dasar	tidak membandingkan	She is tall.
2. Comparative	tingkat perbandingan 2 hal	menggunakan “-er” atau “more” + than	She is taller than her sister.
3. Superlative	membandingkan lebih dari 2 hal	menggunakan “-est” atau “most”	She is the tallest girl in the class.

C. Rumus dan Contoh

🔹 1. One-syllable adjectives (kata sifat satu suku kata)

• Comparative: adjective + -er + than

• Superlative: the + adjective + -estkumsa

big	bigger than	the biggest

🔹 2. Adjective with two syllables ending in -y

• Ganti “y” menjadi “i”, lalu tambahkan -er / -est

• Comparative: more + adjective + than
